I’m building systems and stories that make mental health more human—through art, technology, and community.

I’m Bryn Loftness, CEO and Co-Founder of Biobe (pronounced Bio·be), a company dedicated to improving emotional wellness and mental health outcomes, particularly in children. I’m also a PhD candidate in the Complex Systems and Data Science program at the University of Vermont, where I’m proud to be supported as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow.

My work focuses on biobehavioral data—signals from on-body and off-body sensors, health records, and contextual data. I’m passionate about developing innovative computational methods that drive community-focused solutions to address both physical and mental health challenges.
Through my research, I’m working to transform early childhood mental health screening and intervention, making these tools more accessible, objective, and precise. My goal is to support emotional wellness and resilience in children, and I believe these advancements can revolutionize mental health care by targeting intervention during critical developmental stages, giving children the tools they need for long-term emotional well-being and success.

When I’m not diving into data, I’m deeply involved in outreach in mental health, STEM, and wellness. I’m a big believer in the power of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation to drive real change. Outside of work, you can find me playing soccer, creating art, traveling, or simply seeking new ways to bring creativity and passion to everything I do.
